Sermon Reflections 58

In Fact, Christ Has Been Raised
1 Corinthians 15:12-20
April 16, 2017
In remembering the sermon, answer these questions:
Talk about the implications of Christ not rising from the dead:
Gospel preaching is vain
Our faith is in vain
Prophets, Apostles, and Scriptures are false witnesses and liars
We are still in our sins
Those who have died in Christ will perish eternally
Our hope is in this life only
Why does Paul say that we are to be pitied (we are “pathetic”) if Christ has not been raised?
Take some time to meditate on the same truth in these verses:
Psalm 16; Isaiah 53; Jonah 2 (cf: Matthew 12:40); Luke 24:1-12; 1 Corinthians 15
As God's Word exposes my heart, what does this mean for my life?
Talk about the implications of the Fact that Christ has been raised:
Gospel is not vain (it is the Power of God)
Our faith is not vain (we have a firm assurance)
Prophets, Apostles, and Scriptures are not false (We have a true source of the Wisdom of God)
We are not still in our sins (We have confidence of the sufficiency of Christ’s redeeming work)
Those who die in Christ will not perish (There is, therefore, now no condemnation)
Our hope is not in this life only
