WE BELIEVE…
TBC is a Reformed, baptistic church. Here’s what that means:
The foundations of our faith come directly from God’s Divine revelation, in His inerrant, living, active Word in the Bible. The core, essential pillars that undergird all that we believe, teach, and do as a church can be summed up like this:
We believe that the Bible is the only Divine, infallible, final authority for all faith and life. (Sola Scriptura - Scripture Alone)
We believe that every man, woman, and child is a sinner, having fallen short of the high standards of God's character and moral law. Salvation, therefore, is only possible through faith in the life, death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and enthronement of Jesus Christ. (Sola Fide - Faith Alone)
We believe that we can do nothing to earn God's favor: new life in Jesus is nothing if not the free gift of God. (Sola Gratia - By Grace Alone)
We believe that this grace of God only comes through faith in the work of Jesus: faith that my sins were covered on the cross; faith that Jesus' righteousness covers me. (Solus Christus - In Christ Alone)
We believe that all of life is to be lived for the glory of God alone, fully satisfied with all that He is, and all that He has done for me in Jesus. (Soli Deo Gloria - For the Glory of God Alone)
We believe that all of life is lived in the presence of God: as a child of the Father, you have full and free access to the throne of grace. (Coram Deo - in the Presence of God)
A REFORMED, BAPTISTIC CHURCH
Our official church Declaration of Faith can be found HERE .
TBC is also rooted to the rich theological heritage of the Protestant Reformation of the 16th & 17th Centuries, when God's people risked their lives to stand without compromise for the authority and sufficiency of His Word and the purity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As a church, we exist unashamedly to exalt and magnify Jesus in all of His sufficiency as our Savior and Lord, and to promote His sovereign grace and love to the world.
A more thorough expression of what we teach and believe from God’s Word can be found in the 17th Century LONDON BAPTIST CONFESSION OF FAITH (1689).
